Welcome to Music at The Wheatlands!!

We're so glad to see you!! This blog will post many different things this year including pictures of things we are doing in the classroom, kid projects for your listening and laughing pleasure, and a bunch of different updates through the year. The Grade Level Links on the top bar will take you to information about our curriculum and things that we will be focusing on in music throughout the year! Sea Shanties are Awesome!!!!!

The fourth grade has been learning about Sea Shanties, which are work songs from the 1800s.  They were sung aboard ships to pass the time, help with work, and express their feelings.  Each class broke into groups to create their own Sea Shanties of various subjects.  Their goals were to make the shantey be of good quality, which meant that it had to rhyme, have a steady beat, be fun, and have a part that repeats.  So, without further ado... check out our Sea Shanties from 4th Grade!!
