We started working on Patriotic music in 2nd grade, which is super exciting! We started with an activity in which everyone split into groups and they had to come up with as many patriotic things as they could. Mrs. Maddox's class was the most impressive with being able to come up with 36 different patriotic things. I can tell that they are all doing a great job in 2nd grade social studies because aside from the typical answers (the flag, red white and blue, presidents, and military), I had some classes come up with things like the Declaration of Independence, the Liberty Bell, Secretary of State, and the Washington Monument!
These kids have things like presidents and Marines listed on their board!

The "Star Spangled Banner" is definitely patriotic.
