Welcome to Music at The Wheatlands!!

We're so glad to see you!! This blog will post many different things this year including pictures of things we are doing in the classroom, kid projects for your listening and laughing pleasure, and a bunch of different updates through the year. The Grade Level Links on the top bar will take you to information about our curriculum and things that we will be focusing on in music throughout the year! Dancing in Music!!

One thing that I love about teaching music is that we get to do some fun and funny things. When a class is great, I like to reward them by letting them do something fun like watch a silly youTube video or change up our line order for leaving the music room. Today, I rewarded a few classes with a fun youTube video depicting a video from one of the popular Just Dance games. Now I know what you're thinking.... Miss RAINS!!! How is this educational? Getting the students moving helps their brains and getting them moving to the music actually helps them understand things like rhythm and beat in a fun way! You'll see in the pictures below that even Mr. Gerard approved of our dancing endeavors!
