In this game, the kids are making caterpillars with partners based on cards that tell them directions like "Make an 8 beat rhythm" and "Make a rhythm that repeats"
In this game, the kids actually grow their "train" to see how long they can clap. They also do a game where one student claps a card and the rest of the group has to slap the rhythm they clapped.
This is a picture of us learning how to create rhythms. We use hearts to show our beats in first through fourth grade here at The Wheatlands!
This might look like BINGO, but we were working on dictation with this game. I would clap a rhythm and each pair would try to find the rhythm on their BINGO cards. They did such an awesome job at this!
