In third grade we are working on reviewing our rhythms as well as working on reviewing the steady beat! The best way to do that, in my mind, is to have the kids make a rap! They are coming up with a fun topic and making some phrases and matching their rhythms to their phrases. Their recordings will be posted later this month for your listening pleasure!!! This is definitely a favorite project of mine because of some of their topics. Some of the topics this year include cupcakes, sports, candy, Miss Rains, Mrs. McCullough, Ice cream, and big surprise.... Minecraft! It will surely make you giggle to hear some of their creations!
Just this morning (Wednesday), I had a group in Mrs. Butkus' class that would like to share their rap with you, so check it out!
Here are the "Candy Crushers" from 3B:
He is practicing his group's rap in prep for their presentation soon!!
She is proudly showing off her group's rap. The hearts represent the steady beat for making up our rhythms!
These girls are working practicing clapping and saying their raps together!
